INTRODUCTION
Clinical Advances in Hematology & Oncology (H&O) iis a peer-reviewed journal published monthly, 12 times per year. The mission of H&O is to contribute to the advancement of these interrelated fields by providing indispensable editorial content to oncology, oncology/hematology, and pure hematology clinicians. Editorial content encompasses a wide array of topics relevant and useful to the fields of oncology and hematology. Content is directed by the strong input of experts in the field.
SCOPE OF MANUSCRIPTS
H&O will consider the following types of articles for publication:
• Reviews: Reviews are overview articles that summarize and synthesize the literature to date on various topics in a scholarly and clinically relevant fashion. Reviews may focus on one or a number of disease states. Suitable topics include diagnosis and staging; treatment (all modalities); outcomes; quality of life; pain management and palliative care; epidemiology; cost-effectiveness.
• Original Reports: Original reports present methodologically sound original data on topics of interest to the clinician.
• Letters to the Editor: All letters will be considered for publication.
• Clinical Case Studies: Single case studies will be considered for publication. These should include a brief description of the case, a review of similar cases in literature, and a brief statement of the inquiry. Cases will be reviewed by an expert in the field and will be published with the expert’s commentary.
• Diagnostic and Treatment Algorithms: Original algorithms intended to aid diagnosis and treatment will be considered for publication.
MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION
• General Information: One copy of the manuscript should be submitted to Editor, Clinical Advances in Hematology & Oncology, Millennium Medical Publishing, Inc., 611 Broadway, Suite 310, New York, NY 10012.
Authors are also required to submit their manuscript in an electronic format, preferably by e-mail to editor@clinicaladvances.com or CD. Please provide in a word processing program. If using a computer disk, please label with manuscript title and first author’s name. Images should be submitted electronically if possible, preferably in high-resolution (300 dpi), and in one the following file formats: EPS, JPG, or TIF.
• Letters of permission to reproduce previously published material: AAll material reproduced from previously published, copyrighted material must be accompanied by a letter of permission from the copyright holder. All such material should contain a full credit line acknowledging the original source. The author is responsible for obtaining this permission.
• Peer Review and Editing: Manuscripts will be peer reviewed. Accepted manuscripts will be edited for clarity, style and consistency.
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
• Length: Approximate word counts are as follows: Reviews and Original Reports, 3,000–4,000 (please try to limit reference list to 50 items); Letters, 500; Clinical Case Studies, 1,500. Algorithms should contain a sufficient introduction, a flowchart or series of graphs that fill 5 or more journal pages, and a concise summary. Inclusion of tables and figures with all article types is encouraged. Please include appropriate keywords.
• Spacing: One space after commas and periods. Manuscripts should be double spaced.
• Abstract and Keywords: All reviews and original reports must contain an abstract approximately one paragraph long and up to 6 keywords.
• References: All submissions should be referenced. Please use American Medical Association style. References must be numbered and referred to in the text by numbers. Manuscripts with incorrect reference style may be returned, or publication may be delayed. See the following examples:
